A Review of our First Season

A BRIEF REVIEW OF THE SEASON:

The opening of Mallamoore House B&B started with our Grand Opening on June 29th. We were worried that no one would attend the opening, after all who would care about another Bed and Breakfast. Well, to our surprise lots of people were interested; there were approximately 200 people who came to visit Mallamoore House. It was exciting to be able to share what we had created with the community. We were overjoyed that so many people were impressed with the work we had done and we were delighted to hear, over and over again, how beautiful the house now was.
The first family reunion at Mallamoore House was fantastic. Many of the family members were able to attend and it was so lovely to have everyone together. Everyone was so happy to see the old family home repaired, renovated and brought back to life. They also enjoyed meeting each other, making new friendships and renewing old ones. We have plans to do a second reunion and hope to hold them once every two years.

This was our first season and we had no idea what to expect when we started running the bed and breakfast, but our aim was to create a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere where people would feel at home. We also wanted to share what we love about the beautiful old family home, the charmingly quaint town of Heart’s Content and the stellar people who live there and across Newfoundland.

We will be telling all our friends about it”. “Our hearts are content now that we have stayed at this B&B”. “This B&B is a class act in every way. Your hospitality is second to none”. “Fabulous! We wish we could stay longer; it was so wonderful to be here on this beautiful property. Thank you for the warm hospitality, comfy bed, yummy breakfast and of course the amazing view”.

Thinking back on our first season we believe we accomplished our goals. The bonus was we met some amazing guests who are now friends, we had an opportunity to spend time with friends, family and meet new people from the area. We might be biased, but we must say they are some of the nicest people you’ll find anywhere.
We are now closed for the season and our next season will start June 2020 and will run until September 30th. We look forward to meeting more new people and spending time with friends and family, learning more about Newfoundland, learning more new recipes and getting to spend more time in Heart’s Content.
