Things To Do Spring & Summer 2020

Hello again!

Spring is on its way so I thought I would post some of the local upcoming events that are being planned for the spring and summer in Heart’s Content and nearby areas that you may enjoy during your holiday.

The Town of Heart’s Content will once again be hosting a July 1st Canada Day celebration and Parade. It’s a family fun event and a great way to meet the local people!
The signature celebration in Heart’s Content is the July 27th The Annual Celebration of the Cable Landing. This celebration is held at the Cable Station Museum, and includes museum tours, walking tours, music and an evening concert followed by fireworks.

The Arts Center in Heart’s Content has a busy schedule, the list of current shows are:
The first Friday of every month, starting in April 3 running thru till December, the Arts Center holds a coffee house offering wonderful entertainment and music.  Admission is $5.00.  On April 23, 24 and 25th they will be holding an Old Fashion Spring Concert.  On May 31st Sunday afternoon The Three Decades.
On June 19th Friday night Craig Young will be preforming.  On July 19th Sunday at 2 pm  the Red Island Resettlement Girl will be playing and on July 27th,Heritage Day, the Walsh Family Band will be preforming.  For more information please check out their website: http://www.mizzenheritagesociety.com/index.html

The Winterton Wooden Boat Museum also has a lot planned for this year. They will have daily tours of the Museum, A one day Boat Building workshop held on Saturdays thru July and August. They will also be holding a learn to build a Grand Banks Dory in August and much more. For more information please check out their website: http://woodenboatmuseum.com/

Another nearby community which will be a must to visit is Harbour Grace. It’s their 75th Anniversary! Here’s the tentative list of events:

July 18, 10:30 am Transplant Trot, Kids events and Heritage Musical. July 19, 4 pm Tea Party
July 20, 10 am Group Hike Pirates Path, Cards, Outdoor Movie. July 21, 7 pm Guided Tour Harbour Grace Heritage Dist.
July 22 Stadium Soc Hop. Walk Harbour Grace Affray Story, starting at Irving to Pippy Lane. July 23, 1 pm Guided Tour Cemeteries of Military Road, Community Artifact/Heirloom Display. July 24, 1 pm, Group Hike Pirate’s Path. July 25th, Regatta Day. 11 am Fish & Brewis.
